The third and final reading of a proposed anti-dog chain ordinance is scheduled for tonight’s Board of Directors meeting in Texarkana, Ark.

The ordinance will make it against the law to chain a dog to a stationary object. A “trolley system or a tether attached to a pulley on a cable run,” will be allowed.

After tonight’s reading the board will be able to vote on the issue.

Violators will first be given a warning and if the don’t correct the issue after 10 days the dog may be seized.

The board will also consider a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract for the Millwood Water Treatment Plant Sludge Ponds Cleaning Project, and ordinances to revise some city fees.
