A resident of the apartment that burned earlier Wednesday was arrested by Texarkana, Ark. police after firing a gun into the air multiple times while fire investigators worked nearby.

Eric Lee, 37-years-old, was arrested for being a felon in position of a handgun, according to Texarkana, Ark. Police Public Information Officer Kristi Bennett.

Texarkana, Ark. Fire Marshall Steven Johnson was on scene investigating the fire at Fox Creek when he reported hearing multiple gunshots and asked for police backup.

Officers were directed to an apartment where a man identified as Lee had retreated to after firing the shots into the air. Lee allegedly fired the shots after being threatened by another man.

A woman also in the apartment was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants, said Bennett.
