Homeowner exchanges gunfire with prowler

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence off County Road 295 Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to the residence at approximately 04:40 A.M. in reference to a prowler call. The homeowner reported someone was attempting to break into his home.

According to police, the homeowner confronted an armed perpetrator who he reported as being dressed in all black and wearing a ski-mask. The two-exchanged gunfire and the perpetrator fled the area on foot.

At the time of the call deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

At approximately 06:56 A.M. deputies were notified of a 16-year-old male gunshot victim at Wadley Hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident. The 16-year-old male gunshot victim is listed in stable condition.

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please come forward.
