Bank robbery suspect in custody after leading police on chase.

The suspect in a bank robbery at the Bank of the Ozarks on Richmond Rd. is in custody after leading police on a high speed chase.

The robbery happened just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The suspect lead police northbound on Richmond Rd. until the road ended. He was apprehended after the car became stuck.

According to police the man fired a shot at officers before dropping the weapon and being placed in custody.

According to police radio traffic the suspect pointed an orange handgun at bank employees and demanded money. Pursuing officers also reported seeing the handgun in the suspects hand while driving.
