Overnight Crash on Interstate 30 Closes Eastbound Lanes

Eastbound Interstate 30 in Texarkana Texas is still shut down this morning after a single vehicle crash involving a UPS 18-wheeler at about 2:15. All traffic is being diverted to Mall Drive around the accident, and the flyover to eastbound I-30 at the Loop (Jarvis Parkway/369) is also closed.

The driver apparently fell asleep and ran off the road near Cowhorn Creek. No one was injured.

Both sides of I-30 were initially closed, and all traffic was diverted to Mall Drive and St. Michael Drive. Westbound was opened within an hour, but the eastbound lanes are still closed. TXDOT is on scene now working with the wrecker company to remove the road signage and the truck. There is no estimate on how long it will take to clear the road and reopen the Interstate.

We ask that drivers avoid this area this morning if they have the option of another route.
