Texarkana, Texas, 6:40 am: Texarkana, Texas Fire Department responded to a report of a residential fire on College Drive between Anthony Drive and Rhozine Lane. A limb fell and pulled down a power line. This caused sparks on the side of the house.
TTPD quickly arrived and got the scene under control. Traffic on College Drive was backed up during rush hour. The crews had to direct traffic around the fire and police vehicles because they had to take up one lane of traffic.
This included spraying down the side of the house with water and using a thermal imaging machine to look into the attic and behind the outside walls to make sure there was not any more sparks or fire. Then, TTFD cleared the scene. Swepco was on scene when authorities left.
