Alligator Killed Crossing Highway 59 Near Sulphur River Bridge

1:00 P.M. Friday | A call came from a Bowie County Sheriff Officer that there was a 10 foot alligator in the median of Highway 59 near the sulphur river bridge. A member of Liberty Eylau Volunteer Fire Department Responded to the area.

By the time LEVFD arrived on scene the alligator had been struck and killed by a vehicle in the north bound lane. The alligator was quiet a bit shorter than 10 feet.
