Body of Missing Texarkana, Ark. Man Found off Summerhill Rd.

Christopher D. Guilbeau (Cates), who was reported missing from Texarkana, Arkansas on Thursday, was found deceased late Friday night.

According to police two calls to 911 around 11 p.m. led Texarkana, Texas patrol officers to an alley near the 1100 block of Della Street where they discovered Guilbeau’s body.

The investigation into Guilbeau’s death will be a coordinated effort by detectives from both Texarkana Police Departments.

Guilbeau had not been seen or heard from since Wednesday afternoon.

Police in Tulsa, Okla. found Guilbeau’s car Thursday during a traffic stop. Inside the vehicle was the driver, Brandon Brown, 22, of Dallas and passengers, Marquell Smith, 20, of Texarkana both of whom were arrested. A 17-year-old Tulsa girl also in the vehicle was released to her parents.

Tulsa Jail records for Brown and Smith have been updated since their initial booking with a fugitive from justice charge and a hold for Texarkana police.


Texarkana, Texas police officers established a crime scene around 11:00 p.m. Friday night at 11th and Summerhill. Crime scene tape roped off an entire lot from Summerhill Rd. to Della Street at W. 12th Street.

Detectives from Texarkana Arkansas Police Department and Texarkana Texas Police Department are working together to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
