Bond Set at $25,000 for Man Who Left Scene of Crash Causing Injury

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Department around 7pm last night a man was arrested following a hit-and-run vehicle crash.

A Ford pickup, operated by Raymond Corbett, 29, of McCleod, Texas, struck a Chrysler car, operated by a Lewisville, AR man, as they were both traveling north in the 3500 block of North Robison Road.  The impact caused the car to leave the road and strike a utility pole before rolling over and hitting a house.

Texarkana, Texas police responded to the scene of the crash to assist a Bowie County Sheriff’s Deputy who witnessed the crash and pursued Corbett as he fled from the crash. Corbett was charged with Leaving the Scene of Crash Causing Injury and Driving While License Invalid.  Corbett also had a probation violation warrant for a Driving While Intoxicated charge.  Justice of the Peace Nancy Talley set Corbett’s bond at $25,000 for Leaving the Scene of the Crash.  He does not have a bond for the Probation Violation.

The driver of the car was transported to Saint Michael’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  No one was injured in the house that was struck by the car.
