A Bowie County grand jury has formally charged a 64-year-old New Boston, Texas man with indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Hosey Wyrick is accused of touching a 4-year-old girl’s genitals while exposing himself during a drive in October 2011, according to a probable cause affidavit. The affidavit alleges Wyrick was giving an adult a ride to work at a Texarkana Walmart when the child asked to come along.

After dropping the adult off at the store, Wyrick allegedly pulled down his pants and touched the girl. The girl, who was visiting relatives in New Boston at the time, was interviewed the following year by staff at a Children’s Advocacy Center in Tarrant County, Texas.

The girl alleged that Wyrick was “mean” to her and told her to “shut up” while he was sexually abusing her. If convicted, Wyrick faces two to 20 years in prison.
