Bowie County opens flood command post

Bowie County officials have established a flood command post just north of town off of Richmond Rd. using the Texarkana, Texas Police Department mobile command post.

Bowie County Emergency Management Officials along with Bowie County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Game Wardens will be working around the clock until flood waters recede.

According to TTPD, “using the state of the art technology in the command post, emergency managers will be able to evaluate the evolving situation quickly and send resources where they are needed.”

Area volunteer fire departments are also providing workers and equipment

Bowie County Sheriff’s Department has their helicopter on site and Texas Wildlife Officers have boats and airboats.
