Bowie County SWAT Stand-off Ends Peacefully on Kelly Road

A SWAT stand-off between a man barricaded in a room with a knife and the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team ended peacefully around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Bowie County Sheriff James Prince a man threatening suicide by cop had locked himself in a bedroom of a house in the 1100 block of Kelly Road.

LifeNet removed a disabled person from the house that was unable to leave on their own said Prince.

According to Prince a Bowie County Sheriff’s Office negotiator was on scene attempting to talk the man out of the house.

According to Sheriff Prince the man, whose name has not been released, gave up peacefully after 3 hours to negotiators and will not be charged with any crime. “We are just interested in the man getting the help he needs, he never threatened anyone else,” said prince.
