The City of Texarkana, Texas is currently investigating reports of a large snake being found on a tree at Bringle Lake Park.

According to Texarkana, Texas public information officer Lisa Thompson, “it appears to be a domesticated pet that someone releases in the area, because the species is not native to the site.”

Thompson went on to say that the city has treated the park with Snake Away and are assessing the best course of action for this specific animal.

“If anyone sees a threat, they should report it at 903-798-3999,” said Thompson.

update – clarification, the city treated the park at the beginning of the season, not since the sighting.
