3:15 P.M. Tuesday | New Boston Volunteer Fire Department, Texas DPS Troopers, and Bowie County Sheriff Deputies were on scene of a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon. According to a witness he was driving at a high rate of speed on the shoulder passing single lane traffic when he hit a stopped construction truck.
The driver of the motorcycle died on scene.
The accident had eastbound lanes of I-30 closed just east of the Highway 82 exit. Eastbound traffic was being diverted onto 82 and through New Boston causing congestion. Westbound lanes were also moving slowly due to traffic going to one lane for construction at the same location as the accident scene.
