Freeze Warning Issued

The national weather service has issued a freeze warning for the Ark-La-Tex that runs from 3 a.m Saturday morning till 9 a.m. Saturday.

The forest shows temperatures to be right at 32 degrees at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Be sure all animals have a warm place to take shelter tonight.

COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL CONTINUE SPREADING INTO THE FOUR STATE AREA PROVIDING A STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT RESULTING IN STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH THROUGH EARLY EVENING. AS WINDS DECREASE OVERNIGHT… THIS AIR MASS WILL ALSO PRODUCE THE FIRST FALL FREEZE ON SATURDAY MORNING FOR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND PARTS OF NORTHEAST TEXAS AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS ALONG AND TO THE NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 30 CORRIDOR.

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
