A Heat advisory has been posted for Sunday and Monday for all of northeast Texas, northern Louisiana as well as extreme southwestern Arkansas from noon Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday.

Southerly winds will result in higher afternoon relative humidity values sunday into Monday. This in turn will result in higher afternoon heat index values both days with readings expected to be near 105 degrees.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat related illnesses are possible. Caution is recommended especially with the upcoming 4th of july holiday coming up on monday if outdoor plans are in the offering.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
