Hooks ISD ACE Program Participates in the Scholastic R.E.A.L Program

The Hooks ISD ACE Program started the Scholastic R.E. A.L last month. The program is for students K-5, mentoring students to “READ EXCEL ACHIEVE LEAD”.  Members of the community or celebrity readers come into the classrooms to read and engage students in an age appropriate book.  The students then receive a copy of that book to take home with them.  The students are encouraged and inspired to read and the ongoing community involvement enriches the ACE program.

The ACE program was pleased to have the Chick-Fil-A cow and Pam Wood, Chick-Fil-A Marketing Director, come and read to the students this month.  The students find this activity interesting and entertaining.  Other visitors have included a Hooks High School Cheerleader and senior members of the local community.

If you would like more information about volunteering or mentoring in ACE program or if you have a trade or skill you would like to share with students please contact Kim Baggett, Family Engagement Specialist, 903-547-2215 x2099 or baggettk@hooksisd.net.
