New Boston, Texas — A jury was selected Tuesday at the Bowie County courthouse to decide if a Texarkana, Texas, man is guilty of inappropriately touching a young girl in 2014 and 2016.

Donald Ray Coleman, 34, is accused of touching the girl in a three-count indictment. Coleman was first indicted for a single count of indecency with a child by contact in September but was re-indicted for three counts in December.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the girl told a forensic interviewer at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Texarkana that Coleman was staying with her mother when she visited in June 2016 when she was 12 years old. Coleman allegedly touched the girl on dates in 2014 as well.

The girl’s older sister, now 19, has allegedly made allegations against Coleman also. An indictment accusing Coleman of misconduct with the second alleged victim was handed down in December as well but is not being considered by the jury of eight women and four men chosen Tuesday.

Coleman faces two to 20 years on each of the three counts of indecency with a child by contact being put before the jury this week. A date for trial on the second indictment, which alleges indecency by contact and aggravated sexual assault of a child, hasn’t been scheduled.
