Family and friends gathered at the Pleasant Grove High School auditorium on Tuesday morning, May 22, 2018, to celebrate end of the year accomplishments and successful completion of another year of school.  HealthCARE express was also in attendance to make the surprise announcement of a lifetime for two lucky students, Theia Neuman and Kennedy Gibson.

HealthCARE Express launched the Klondike Leadership Academy (KLA) last year as a community service initiative for local youth.  Their free leadership program welcomes children in Kindergarten through 5th grade and focuses on principles of responsibility, accountability, and initiative in areas like community and school.

Suki O’Neal, Community Educator for HealthCARE Express, said, “ We are proud to promote leadership  in the community of Texarkana and beyond.”

HealthCARE Express’ KLA program is currently in 9 school districts in the Bowie and Miller County area alone.

“We are also in Marshall, Longview, the Little Rock area and Oklahoma,” said O’Neal.

For the 2017-2018 school year, Katie Clark, PG’s KLA facilitator, diligently worked with their students.  Over six-hundred students completed the KLA program for the year, with PG having fifteen who successfully completed the program.

The top two students, Theia Neuman and Kennedy Gibson,  earned a trophy and a free Disney cruise for them and one parent.

“With a combined total of over 10,000 points these two students more than earned their platinum trophy, their invite to our end of year party, and a free cruise,” exclaimed O’Neal.
