Man apprehended after leading police on short pursuit

According to DPS troopers a man ran from them Thursday so that he would have a place to stay tonight.

The chase started around noon on the loop in Texarkana, when a trooper attempted to stop the man for speeding and having expired registration.

The man exited on Mall Dr. where he finally stopped just short of Summerhill Rd. and was taken into custody by a DPS trooper.

He told a trooper that he didn’t stop because he needed a place to stay tonight.

The man identified as Shawn David Terry is now charged with evading arrest.
