Man arrested after foot pursuit down State Line

Texarkana, Texas police arrested a man after a short foot pursuit Wednesday morning on State Line Ave.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Department spokesperson Shawn Vaughn, “officer Colton Johnson attempted to stop Octavian Kelly, 24, of Texarkana, Texas for walking in the roadway in the 4900 block of North Stateline, but Kelly fled on foot.”

According to Vaughn Officer Johnson gave chase and apprehended the Kelly in the 4500 block of n state line. “Kelly resisted arrest but was quickly taken into custody.”

Officer Johnson sustained minor cuts and scrapes during the struggle.

According to Vaughn Kelly was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, and a unrelated felony warrant and is currently in the Bi-State Jail.
