Man Arrested by TTPD For Resisting Arrest

Thursday January 29, 2015 at 9:07am Texarkana, Texas Police Officer Dustin Thompson conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West 16th and Main Streets.

The vehicle passenger, 21 year old black male, Lance Rajohn Brewer, provided the officer with conflicting identifying information about his identity. Officer Billy Giddens responded to assist Officer Thompson.

The officers had Brewer exit the vehicle in order to detain him for further investigation. Once he had exited the vehicle, Brewer attempted to flee on foot at which time a struggle ensued between Brewer and the officers.

The officers were able to subdue Brewer and take him into custody following a brief physical altercation. Following Brewer’s arrest, officers discovered a handgun magazine in Brewer’s possession and a 9mm handgun concealed in the vehicle.

Brewer was transported to Bi-State Criminal Justice Center Jail where he was charged with Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice, Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm as a Convicted Felon in addition
