New Boston Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

A New Boston, Texas woman facing child pornography charges in a Texarkana federal court plead not guilty Tuesday.

Haidy Noel Branson, 23, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven for arraignment and pleaded not guilty to all three counts from the indictment.

The criminal complaint accuses Branson of possession, production, and distribution of child pornography.

Pretrial conference is scheduled for April 7, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. before United States District Judge Robert W. Schroeder in Texarkana, Texas. Jury selection will be announced at that time.

Possession of child pornography carries a penalty of imprisonment for not more than 20 years and a fine of not more than $250,000. Production of child pornography carries a penalty of imprisonment for not less than 15 years and not more than 30 years and a fine of not more than $250,000. Distribution of child pornography carries a penalty of no less than 5 years and no more than 20 years imprisonment and a fine of not more than $250,000.

Branson was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and remains in Bi State Jail.
