One person shot at Paradise Club

Texarkana, Ark. Police are currently investigating after one person was shot early Saturday morning at the Paradise Club on E. 9th St.

According to police radio traffic one person was shot in the neck while inside the club.

Texarkana, Ark. Police were dispatched to the club just before 1 a.m. for a disturbance in the parking lot. Shortly after arriving on scene an officer reported shots fired from inside the club.

According to officer Kristi Bennett, “when police officers arrived they located victim Montel Waller, 23 years of age, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound. Waller was transported by Lifenet Ambulance to Wadley hospital where he underwent treatment and is in recovery.”

“Texarkana Arkansas Police immediately began investigating the shooting and have identified 23-year-old LaJason Coakley as the shooter,” said Bennett. “A felony arrest warrant for Battery 1st Degree has been issued for his arrest.”
