Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle

Texarkana, Texas Police are investigating an early morning accident where a man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in the 3900 block of West Seventh Street.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Department Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn, at 4:18 a.m. today, Antonio Smith, 32, of Wake Village, was driving west in the inside lane of West Seventh Street in a 2008 GMC Yukon. Timothy Norris, 26, of Texarkana Texas, ran south across the roadway near the Kilgore Street intersection and into the path of Smith’s vehicle. Smith was unable to avoid Norris and struck him with the front of the vehicle, causing him to be thrown 25 feet from the point of impact. Smith immediately stopped and called 9-1-1 to report the accident.

According to Vaughn Norris was transported by LifeNet Ambulance to Christus St. Michael Hospital with serious injuries. He is now listed as being in stable condition.
