The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in the 1600 block of North Bishop Road. The deceased driver has been identified as Marvin Adams Jr., 32, of Texarkana, Arkansas.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a major crash at 1:22 p.m. today where a vehicle had rear-ended a log truck. Investigators were able to determine that the log truck, driven by Bill Stephens, 71, of Springhill, Louisiana, had been stopped temporarily in the outside line of N. Bishop Street while Stephens went inside a business at that location. After he reentered the truck and started pulling away, Adam’s 2008 Ford F150 truck struck the rear of the log truck. Adams was killed on impact.
N. Bishop was closed to traffic for approximately two hours while officers conducted their investigation and the scene was cleared.
No charges have been filed in this case.
