Texarkana, Texas Fire Department is asking for help identifying the man responsible for setting a vehicle on fire at Rags Detail Shop on July 12th at about 10:00 at night.

According to police the man shown in the video tried initially to burn the car by throwing a Molotov cocktail onto the hood, but the bottle appears to have rolled harmlessly to the ground as he ran away. “Seemingly intent upon finishing the job, he returned about 15 minutes later, poured an accelerant all over the same vehicle and then ignited it.”

He was last seen running south on Congress Street and was presumably picked up by the same person who had dropped him off there just minutes before.

Police say while the man seems to target this one specific vehicle, both the owner of the business and the vehicle owner said they didn’t know who he is.

If you recognize him or have any information about this arson case, please call Assistant Fire Chief Chris Black at 903-798-3994 or CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
