Police say dead body is a result of homicide

HOPE, Ark., — The body of a man found dead about 9 a.m. Wednesday is the result of foul play, says the Hope, Ark., Police Department.

The death of Gary Tuberville, 57, of Hope, Ark., is being investigated as a homicide as a result of “forced trauma” after his body was found in his Hope, Ark., home.

“Hope police and Pafford EMS initially received a call for help Wednesday regarding an injured person at 302 S. Ferguson St.,” said Chief of Police J.R. Wilson.

Anyone with information regarding this crime should call Detective Andrew Watson of Hope Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Division at 870-722-2563.

“It is of the utmost importance that any person with any information connected to this crime contact our CID personnel for further investigation. Our commitment is to pursue this case and cases like it to the fullest extent. Our hearts go out to the family of Mr. Tuberville. Our investigation continues. The dissemination of any additional information would not be appropriate at this time,” he said.

Tuberville’s body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
