Texarkana, Texas Police Department is warning residents of a potential scam.

According to police several people in Texarkana have gotten a postcard similar to this one in the last few days. When you call the number, they start asking for your social security number and checking account information so they can process a one-time charge of $4.95 to cover the postage and handling of your gift card.

Police advise not to share any of this type of information with someone you don’t know to be a reputable business. From all appearances, this does not seem to be one of those reputable business at all.

Always remember that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
