Queen City Murder Suspect Found Dead

suspected murdererCASS COUNTY, Texas – The man suspected of killing a Queen City, Texas, woman and critically injuring another has reportedly killed himself.

“The suspect was found near Wright Patman Lake,” said Queen City Chief of Police Robert McGee. “It appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Law enforcement officials believe that Leon Minniefield, 56, shot two people, murdering one in Queen City, Texas, late Tuesday night.

“On June 24, 2014, at 10:57 p.m., the Queen City Police Department was dispatched to a residence in Queen City where a shooting had occurred. Upon arrival, the department found that there were two shooting victims at the scene. One of the victims was deceased and the other was taken by helicopter to a Texarkana hospital,” said McGee.

Marshantha Frank, 27, was found dead at the scene. The other victim’s name is not being released at this time. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is now investigating the suspect’s death.
