Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) met today with representatives from the Riverbend Water Resources District (RWRD) in his Washington, D.C. office.

In the meeting, Ratcliffe was thanked for recently sending a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, asking for the completion of a funding agreement with the RWRD. The expansion and division of water from the Wright Patman Reservoir was also discussed.

“As Northeast Texans, we know all too well the challenges that come with the scarcity of water resources in our region. Whether due to population growth or rain deficits – the threat of a water shortage should be something we’re actively working to prevent. I’m committed to prioritizing my work with folks at the Riverbend Water Resources District to ensure our water needs are always secured,” Ratcliffe said.

Meeting attendees include RWRD Executive Director and CEO Liz Fazio, Vice President of the RWRD Board Fred Milton of New Boston, and Treasurer of the RWRD Board Kelly Mitchell of Texarkana.
