Shooter leads police on chase to hospital

Bowie County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a shooting that left one person seriously wounded Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened around noon Sunday on County Road 4240.

According to Authorities Barry Green went to the house of Michael Hooks and shot him.

According to radio traffic the shooting may have been over a girl.

Green shot Hooks in the mid-section. Hooks is currently listed in serious condition.

Deputies and Texas DPS troopers spotted Green on Interstate 30 and attempted to stop him. The chase ended at CHRISTUS St. Michael emergency room.

Green was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a warrant for family violence.

According to authorities Green won’t be charged for the pursuit since it was an emergency situation where he was seeking medical help.
