Shooting victim dropped off at hospital, police investigate

At approximately 10:46 p.m., Texarkana Texas Police Department responded to a service call for a shooting at Town North Apartments located on 4624 Elizabeth Street.

Upon arrival, authorities were unable to locate a victim or any evidence of a shooting.

According to TTPD Spokesperson, a short time later, police were advised of a shooting victim who was dropped off at CHRISTUS St. Michael Emergency Room.

The 21-year-old victim had a single gunshot wound to his chest.

According to authorities, while there are several conflicting accounts as to what happened, a man who arrived at the emergency room waiting room was identified as a possible suspect by witnesses and was transported to CID to be interviewed by detectives.

Authorities are still investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The 21-year-old victim, who underwent surgery overnight, is expected to survive.
