Simms man killed in crash on Interstate

A Simms, Texas man is dead after a crash on Interstate 30 Monday evening.

According to a press release, at 8:15 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a crash on IH-30, approximately 13 miles west of New Boston.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 2012 Dodge pickup was traveling east on IH-30, in the right lane. The pickup, after leaving the roadway and entering the eastbound side bar ditch, struck an over pass support column of FM-44.

The driver, Robert Daniel Meadows, 66 year old male from Simms, TX, was pronounced dead on scene.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
