Skater, bikers and rollerbladers now have a place to call home – a safe spot where they can drop in, grind a curb and ride the rails in Texarkana.

The skate park project took off in late March after Texarkana Texas City Council unanimously authorized the City Manager to began plans with American Ramp Company of Joplin, Missouri for the design, equipment and construction of the park.

The project has now been completed and this new skate park located at the corner of Elm Street and W. 3rd St provides a safe place for skaters, BMX riders and rollerbladers to practice their moves.

“We used to have to go to the skate park in Hope, other than that we didn’t really have a place to skate,” explained 20-year-old BMX rider, Reggie Bennett. “We are so excited. It’s probably the best skatepark within a 200 mile radius.”

“It feels like home,” added 19-year-old skateboarder Brendon Vennette.
