The Texarkana Board of Realtors provide help to several nonprofit agencies in the community of Texarkana.

This year the Board of Realtors set out to find a company that could install an air conditions unit in the Domestic Violence Prevention Center. Thus, reaching out to a local A/C company, Air Now to see if they would be willing to help.

The Domestic Violence Prevention center was in great need of a new until after the air compressor stopped working, and created an expense they desperately needed in order to provide women in the community a comfortable place to find shelter to escape abusive relationships.

“The women’s domestic violence home was going on two years without air. I, Reena Corbin, the charity chairperson of the Texarkana Board of Realtors reached out to Neil Gerrald with Aire Now to give me a price. Neil not only gave me a discounted price but free labor to help make this happen. Now the women that have had to leave a bad abusive situation will not have to go through this process without air,” said Corbin.

The Texarkana Board of Realtors presented the Domestic Violence Prevention Center on Spruce Street a check for $1,300 to help with costs of renovations to help make it a habitable safe haven for women of the community.
