Texarkana Texas Fire Department and Texarkana College held an open house at Texarkana Fire Department’s training facility just off Texas Blvd today.
Texarkana College Fire Academy, which will be using the facility, expects their first class to start September 2. Graduates of the program will be eligible for the Texas Commission on Fire Protections structure firefighter exam.
The classes will run from 8 – 5 Monday thru Friday for 14 weeks with the classroom portion being in the Aikin Building at Texarkana College. The class will utilize the Texarkana, Texas Fire Department Training Field for hands on training.
