Clutch Entertainment Group announced that their second sports franchise in the Texas Collegiate League will call George Dobson Field at Spring Lake Park their new home in Texarkana. This new minor league experience summer baseball expansion team will take the field this summer.
In an effort to capture the local excitement for this new team, there will be a “Name the Team Contest.” Community members can visit www.texarkanabaseball.com to provide their suggestion for the team name.
The opportunity to submit ideas will continue through election day (November 8th). At that point the 5 finalists will be released for a community wide vote. The community can vote online (and often) through November 21st, as the focus will shift from the Washington Election to Texarkana Baseball. The winning name will be announced later in November with the unveiling of the team logo, uniforms and pro shop gear.

The Texas Collegiate League is the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league playing a 60 game season starting in late May and wrapping up by middle of August. Celebrating its 15th season in 2017, the TCL features teams playing in Texas & Louisiana. The TCL has had nearly 500 alumni drafted and 21 of those – including World Series Champions Hunter Pence & David Bell – are in the Major Leagues.
