According to Walton County, Florida Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, April 11, 2015, deputies arrested three Texarkana men for allegedly participating in multiple auto burglaries.

According to the press release from Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at an apartment complex in Miramar Beach, after receiving a call from a resident who heard his car alarm go off. He observed two males run from his vehicle, heading south on Ellis Road. A detailed description of the suspects was given to deputies patrolling the area.

Deputy Buddy Burgess was in close proximity to the apartment complex and spotted the two suspects fleeing towards a wooded area off Ellis Road. Deputy Burgess proceeded south on Ellis Road and spotted a Silver S-10 Blazer parked in a lot of another apartment complex with a male sitting in the driver seat. Contact was made and the male was detained for questioning. Deputy Kristin Pond spotted one of the suspects matching the description and pursued him on foot, jumping over two picket fences, where the suspect gave up. The two suspects called the third suspect where he returned to the parking lot and was taken into custody. Deputy Pond deployed her partner, K9 Kayne, who alerted on the vehicle.

Items ranging from money, jewelry, medication, a scuba vest and sunglasses, were found inside the vehicle. A wallet and checkbook was also found and returned to a victim who reported the items stolen the day before while he was surfing. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the suspects were responsible for several other “unlocked” auto burglaries in the Miramar Beach area. The investigation is still on-going.
