UPDATE – A homeless woman found deceased this morning in a local homeless camp has been identified. Family members identified her as 51 year old Gloria Fowler of DeKalb, Texas shortly after 11 a.m. this morning. The circumstances of the death are still unknown. According to Texarkana, Texas Police a homeless woman was found unresponsive at a homeless camp near the 100 block of Leila Street. Around 1:30 a.m. this morning other residents of the camp discovered the woman, and attempted to revive her by starting CPR and seeking help from a nearby fire station. When officers arrived she was already deceased. The woman is a white female and is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old. She is reported to frequent the area of the camp but had only recently begun to live there. While no foul play is suspected, Justice of the Peace Nancy Talley ordered that her body be sent to Dallas for autopsy. The cause of her death is still under investigation.
