UPDATE: Police say double homicide was drug related

According to Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department Public Information Officer Corporal Kristi Bennett, detectives have determined that Thursday night’s double shooting was a home invasion that was narcotic related. Several types of narcotics, money, and weapons were located at the scene.

The two deceased individuals have been identified as 22-year-old Trevon Staten, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and 33-year-old Julian Bolton, of Texarkana, Texas.

A pregnant female, holding a very small child, was inside the residence during the incident but was not injured. At this time TAPD has not received any reports of additional injuries.

At this time the investigation continues.

On Friday November 20, 2015 at 12:00am Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to the 2300 block of Arkansas Blvd, Beacon Point Apartments, in reference to several 911 calls of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers located the first subject inside an upstairs apartment deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A second subject was located outside of the apartment also deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a possible robbery occurred inside the apartment that ended with several shots fired from multiple weapons resulting in two deaths. At this time no other injuries have been reported.

TAPD Detectives are currently investigating this case. More information will be release when available.
