Vote for us, the Texarkana Humane Society every day! The Texarkana Humane Society is asking for help from the Texarkana community. The Shelter Showdown Contest will award $25,000 to the grand prize winner with the most votes, followed by the second place winner receiving $15,000 and third place winner receiving $10,000.
President Sherrie Thompson stated the reasons why she would like for Texarkana residents to rally behind the organization. “We are a non-profit and we are all volunteers. The Texarkana Humane Society is supported through fundraisers, donations and our membership drive. With the money we raise it helps us to care for the animals we have in foster care, we also have our MAD program that helps our community in getting their pets altered and vaccinated at a greatly reduced cost. We also help individuals in our community with pet food and veterinarian care. We are only able to do this because of the money we raise,” stated Sherrie Thompson.
Please note that the Pets Add Life contest is not accepting votes on certain mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets, iPads, etc. Updates will be made on our Facebook page concerning this.
Petfinder has partnered with Pets Add Life to help more pets find homes. A total of $50,000 will be given away to three Petfinder member organizations. Between October 22 and November 19, 2014, supporters and communities are encouraged to vote for their organization of choice, once per day and the organizations with the most votes win!
To vote, shelter supporters can simply ‘Like’ the PAL Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/PetsAddLife and click the Shelter Showdown app or visit http://www.ShelterShowdown.com/ Participants can simply search and vote for their shelter or rescue organization of choice once per 24 hour period through November 19, 2014 at Noon EST. Vote daily and keep an eye on the updated leaderboard! As of today, October 23, voting can not take place on a mobile device. Hopefully mobile device voting will be able to take place. The contest is open October 22, 2014 at Noon EST through November 19, 2014 at Noon EST. The top three shelters with the most votes win and will be announced and notified November 19, 2014, during National Get a Pal For Your Pet Day.
