Wanted Felon Flees From Multiple Officers Drives Wrong Way on U.S. 59

6:00 P.M. Saturday | An officer spotted a person with felony warrants getting gas at the station on 2516 near George Thomas Rd.  The officer attempted to pull the suspect over but the suspect fled towards Highway 59 on 2516.

Multiple agencies assisted in the chase including Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Texas Parks and Wildlife Officer, Texas DPS Troopers, and area city police departments including TTPD, Maud PD, and a Cass County Constable.

The suspect led officers on an extended chase from East of 59 to near highway 67, with the suspect bailing out of his car after driving the wrong way on Highway 59 near Horseshoe Loop Rd.

There was also a passenger in the vehicle that jumped out a few minutes before the driver and also ran into the woods.

Radio traffic indicated tracking dogs were on scene along with a Texas DPS helicopter.  As of around 8:30 P.M. Saturday evening most officers had checked back in service off the scene.  It is unknown if the suspect has been found.
