Winter Weather Advisory issued until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect until 6 p.m. for the Texarkana area.

The Winter weather advisory in effect through 6 p.m. this evening for southeast Oklahoma, southwest Arkansas, extreme northeast Texas, and for the southern sections of north central Louisiana.

According to this advisory, areas of light snow will continue to develop and spread east across north Texas and southern Oklahoma this morning and move across extreme northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas through much of the day.

Snowfall accumulations of a half inch to an an inch with isolated higher amounts will be possible across the advisory area today, through 6 p.m. (CST) this evening.

The accumulations of snow will be possible on grassy surfaces as well as elevated roadways such as bridges and overpasses. This will result in hazardous travel conditions shortly after the snow begins, use caution if you are traveling.
