12:30 p.m. Thursday | Firefighters with Texarkana, Texas Fire Department extricated a 19 year old woman trapped in her vehicle after a two vehicle collision in the 5200 block of N. State Line.
A Texarkana, Texas police officer drove up on the accident moments after happening and reported one person was trapped in her vehicle. TTFD and Lifenet were dispatched and quickly on scene.
Firefighters spent about 15 minutes removing the roof of the vehicle with hydraulic rescue tools before the driver could be removed from the vehicle.
According to TAPD public information Officer Kristi Bennett the woman was attempting to go southbound on 71 when a vehicle traveling northbound on highway 71 struck her.
The female was transported for to a local hospital for medical injuries and later airlifted to you UAMS for further treatment.
