Westlawn Dr. was closed from New Boston Rd. to S. Kenwood Dr. this afternoon. According to Lisa Thompson, Texarkana, Texas Public Information Officer work crews hit a gas line in an area that had been marked as clear to drill.
“Striping Technologies was under contract by the City of Texarkana, Texas to perform repair work on the school zone flasher that had been previously damaged on Westlawn Drive. Locates had been performed and drilling was taking place in the locations that had been cleared when the gas line was hit.”
Crews are on scene working on repairing the line.
