New Boston man killed while crossing Highway 82

TEXARKANA – A New Boston man was hit and killed while attempting to cross US-82 near New Boston last week.

According to Texas DPS on Thursday, November 09 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a crash on US-82, approximately 3.6 miles west of New Boston, Texas.

A 2014 Chevrolet Suburban traveling west on US-82 struck a pedestrian who ran into the path of the suburban as he was attempting to cross US-82.

The pedestrian, Christopher Roger Simpson, 46 year old male from New Boston, Texas was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana with incapacitating injuries. Mr. Simpson was pronounced dead by Dr. Greg White on 11-10-17.

The driver, Katelyn Grant Adams, 23 year old female from Simms, Texas and passengers were not injured.
