This Sunday, Dec. 13th, Company Dance invites the community to enjoy Christmas dance performances. At 2 p.m., about a hundred dancers ages 2 to adult will take the stage of the Performing Arts Center at Pleasant Grove High School, with all proceeds benefiting the neonatal intensive care unit at CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital. Arkansas High School’s drill team, the Red Line, will also perform, along with the Line Stompers drum line from the Faith, Hope and Love Youth Corporation.

The show features dance styles ranging from pointe ballet to hip-hop. Tickets cost $10, and not only do attendees get to enjoy a wide-ranging showcase of dance styles, but according to company owner Holland Gerrald, the money will help families dealing with the difficulties of having a very ill child.

“Our money is tagged to go toward the families,” she said. “Our money won’t go toward a piece of equipment. It’s a local thing.”

Last year the group earned $2,500 for the NICU, and Gerrald said she began doing this to not only have a Christmas performance for her dancers but because she truly loves babies.

“I get so tired of seeing all these stories and not being able to help,” she said. “It’s just my way to give back to the community.”
