Run the Line Half Marathon Will Begin at 7:30 am, February 18th
February 18 @ 7:30 am - 11:30 am
The Ark-La-Tex’s premier half marathon, Run the Line, reports record number of sign-ups for this point in time in race registrations.
Run the Line is a unique event because it’s one of the few races run in two states. Many athletes seek out the race because they’re trying to run in every state, and Run the Line allows them to score two in a single day – Arkansas and Texas. Additionally, it’s partly run on paved walking trails, which not only makes the race unique, but makes it fit the mission of the organizing committee. Joe Saul-Sehy is President of the Board for Partnership for the Pathway, the charitable group the race supports.
“Run the Line is easily our biggest fundraiser for walking trails around Texarkana. Each year, we’re able to make our city more beautiful because so many locals and new friends from all over the nation come to run in our city. It’s an exciting day for trails and also for the community at large.”
So far, Saul-Sehy reports that runners have registered from 14 states, including the event’s first ever entry from Montana. “We’re so proud, though, of our local runners. The Texarkana community really supports this event. I think out of town athletes talk highly about us because so many organizations and both cities come together to support this event and walking trails.”
Run the Line Half Marathon will begin at 7:30 am, February 18th at Broad and Main Street in front of the Bi-State Justice Building in downtown Texarkana. Registrations are currently open for runners and walkers in the half marathon, two-person relay, and four-person relay events at

As in past years, a big finish line celebration is planned at the finish line in front of Hopkins Ice House. Long time race announcer Mike Jones will be aided by the local Four States Amateur Radio Club, so they’ll be announcing race results from around the course throughout the event.
