Veteran’s Day Celebrations in Texarkana

A&M-Texarkana Student Veterans Association “More than Just a Day”
November 9 @ 9:30 a.m. – November 13 @ 5:00 p.m.
Nov. 9-13 on the A&M-Texarkana campus at 7101 University Avenue, Texarkana, Texas.

Veterans, active military, dependents and immediate family members of active or veteran service members can pick up a free flag lapel pin on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor of the University Center or in the Veterans Services office on the second floor of the University Center.

The community is invited to participate in all “More than Just a Day” veterans week activities at A&M-Texarkana.

TASD to Honor Local Veterans this Week
Nov. 10 @ 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Fourth-grade classes at College Hill Elementary School will honor veterans with poems, songs and dance at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and all veterans are encouraged to attend.

The choir, band and string students from North Heights Junior High School will perform at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Central Baptist Church, 2117 E. 35th St. honoring veterans in the Texarkana area.

Veterans Day Celebration
November 11 @ 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

To honor Veterans Texarkana College is hosting a free lunch for TC students, staff and former military on Wed., Nov. 11th starting at 11:30 a.m.

On Mon., Nov. 16 there will be a performance in honor of the veterans. This concert is free and open to public; it starts at 7 p.m.

A sincere speech from a veteran survivor of the Oklahoma City Bombing is scheduled during a citywide Veterans Day celebration Nov. 11 at Pleasant Grove High School, Texarkana, Texas.

Veterans Day Parade
November 14 @ 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Texarkana Area Veteran’s hold their annual Veterans Day Parade at 11 a.m., Saturday in downtown Texarkana. The parade will start at the interception of East Broad Street and Hazel Street.
